Construction
Traditionally built Indonesian timber vessel with a reinforced fibreglass hull, combining classic craftsmanship with enhanced durability and stability at sea.
Built
Constructed in Padang, West Sumatra in 2001, reflecting Indonesia’s rich maritime boat-building tradition.
Engines
Powered by 2 x 190 HP Mitsubishi diesel engines, delivering reliable performance for long-range surf charters.
Cruising Speed
Comfortable cruising speed of 9 knots, ensuring smooth and efficient travel between surf destinations.

Two Huge Decks
The Asia features a relaxed and comfortable layout with spacious front and back deck areas. Perfect for taking in the stunning scenery, enjoying a cold beer, and fully embracing the island experience.
Refurbished in Early 2019
The Asia is looking better than ever with a modernized dining and saloon area, 2 toilets/showers, air conditioning in all sleeping areas, and an outdoor stereo system for added atmosphere.
Fits Up to 10 Surfers
Offering dormitory-style accommodation with air-conditioned rooms, The Asia comfortably accommodates up to 10 guests. All beds include fresh, high-quality cotton sheets changed once per trip to ensure clean and comfortable conditions. Bedside lamps, charging points, and a refreshed natural interior design complete the setup.
Everything You Need On Board
While onboard, guests are supported by an experienced crew and a Western surf guide. Full use of The Asia’s fishing and snorkeling equipment is included, along with access to its 2 tenders for easy transfers and exploration.
Fishing
Alongside its reputation for world-class waves, the region is also known for excellent fishing opportunities. The Asia is well equipped for fishing, and it’s not unusual to land quality fish while cruising around the beautiful outer islands of Sumatra.
