Switchfoot
Switchfoot is a 52 ft fiberglass powercat built in Jepara, Java and owned and operated by Sumatra Charters. Specifically designed for luxury surf charters in the Mentawai Islands, Switchfoot delivers the perfect balance of speed, comfort, and safety.

Built with performance in mind, Switchfoot is capable of reaching speeds up to 18 knots, allowing her to cover great distances and access as many different waves as possible depending on prevailing conditions. With a generous beam of 7.1 meters, there is plenty of space to move comfortably around the deck.

Comfort & Space
The vessel features a spacious air-conditioned saloon and dining area, providing the perfect environment to relax and recharge after a full day of surfing perfect waves and barrels.

Surf Strategy
To maximize surf time, we aim to sail at night at a safe cruising speed of around 10 knots, or anchor in calm, protected locations near the next morning’s surf break. Guests are on the wave at first light every day. If conditions shift or a better opportunity arises elsewhere, Switchfoot can quickly relocate at speeds between 15–18 knots depending on sea conditions.

– $2,000 USD during peak season
– $1,500 USD during off season
(Can be added 1 day before or after original trip dates, or both front-end and back-end for up to 12 full surf days)

• Photography package: $150 USD per guest for 10 days of photos and/or videos by Popeye (1st mate)

• Recommended tip for boat crew: $100 USD per guest (or equivalent in other currencies)

• Satellite phone usage: $7 USD per minute for calls, $7 USD per outgoing text

• Mixed drink bar menu available:
Drinks range from IDR 80,000 up to IDR 220,000 per drink.
Premium/top-shelf selections include Mezcal, Tequila, Whiskey, Rum, and Grey Goose Vodka.

Beer is included free of charge.
Guests may bring their own hard liquor and prepare their own mixed drinks free of charge. If using our liquor and/or bartender service, drinks will be charged accordingly.
